The aim of this project was the creation of a poster and the theme was “True lies”. The idea was to imagine an advertising poster illustrating a fact which should be numerical or quantitative in basis, publicly available and verifiable, but be diverted to serve the cause of a bias. I used my fact, “We have never sold as much vinyls for 25 years”, to denounce bad effects of vinyls for the ecology. Vinyl siding can release toxic fumes when burning, particularly dioxine and smoke containing high amounts of hydrochloric acid.

My poster is a hand-made illustration who represents a man listening vinyls and who inhales some toxic smoke in the face. The smoke comes from an old gramophone, as if it was a fireplace. The colorization and finishing were made on photoshop. The bottom of the poster is in green to make a reminder with the ecology. The result is a poster full of mockery and second degree in a naïve and wrongly childish style.
